THAT LIFE IS MORE FUN
when you like the way you look.
THAT YOU HAVE BETTER THINGS TO THINK ABOUT
than what to wear each day.
THAT THE RIGHT JEANS
can change your life.
THAT YOUR WARDROBE CAN BE A CATALYST
for reaching your goals, not just a reward.
THAT BUYING MORE CLOTHES ISN'T THE ANSWER
Buying the RIGHT clothes is.
THAT WE AS MOMS OWE TO OUR KIDS
(especially our daughters) to take care of ourselves.
THAT EVERY WOMAN CAN BE STYLISH
no matter her age, shape, size, or life stage.
THAT EVERY WOMAN DESERVES TO FEEL FABULOUS
every. single. day.
A little about me:
I wasn’t made for this.
I wasn’t born to be a Wardrobe Stylist. In fact, I had a love/hate relationship with clothes. I loved them, but the feeling wasn’t mutual. I struggled with my weight growing up, and had a difficult body type to dress. Pants were too tight in the waist, but the legs were clown-like. Tops pulled across my broad shoulders. I wanted so badly to wear the styles girls around me were wearing, but no matter how much I bought (or how much I exercised and dieted), I could never pull my look together.
A twist of fate brought me to work at Chico’s, and my life was changed forever. The first day on the job, I was taught the 4 Basic Body Types, and how to dress each one. A lightbulb went off and I realized my body wasn’t strange, or malformed, or weird…it was just an Apple. A totally normal, if not super common, shape. It wasn’t my body that was wrong, it was the pants I was buying. Once I discovered HOW to dress my body, my love affair with clothes was on! Oh, and I also learned how to do the same for others. In my time at Chico’s, I personally dressed thousands of women.
I went on to work for a chain of high-end boutiques and Gap Maternity before leaving the corporate world when I had my daughter. There isn’t a body or wardrobe challenge I haven’t seen!
A little more about me:
My own Frump Slump
After my first daughter was born, I fell into the stay at home mom Frump Slump (perhaps you’ve been there?). I didn’t go anywhere, so I didn’t need cute clothes. I didn’t have cute clothes, so I didn’t go anywhere. In fact, for months on end, I wore nothing but colorful velour pants–the 2008 equivalent of leggings. From a style (and mental health) perspective, it was a very dark time.
A friend, who knew my background, asked me to speak to her women’s group about dressing the different body types. After that talk, I was bombarded with requests for shopping and closet help. It turns out, dressing our bodies is NOT a skill we’re born with, and so many women were just as clueless as I was, pre-Chico’s!
I started my own styling business in 2012 with the mission to take the mystery and stress out of getting dressed, and help women build stylish, cohesive wardrobes that make them look and feel fabulous. After all, I’ve been there. I’ve had a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. I had the (incorrect) belief that style was for other women. I dreaded and avoided events because I had nothing to wear. But I discovered how much better life feels when you like the way you look.
I want to help you get there, too.
What clients are saying about Jennifer
I just had to write and tell you that you have given me hours of my life back! I haven’t spent any time at all standing in front of my closet trying to figure out what to wear. And, there have been no panicked runs to the laundry hamper to clean the one reasonably decent option that I had. It has been amazing!Kelly L.
I want to THANK YOU BIG TIME for helping me get the outer image of me lined up with my inner image and skill set. I wholeheartedly believe that my promotion would not be happening had I not enlisted your services.Melissa C.
